THE RESERVE - HIKING

The 800 hectare reserve is a rare sanctuary for hundreds of plant species, an important local catchment area and an essential meeting place of different fynbos vegetation types, including the ultra-endemic “Elim fynbos” with several endangered plant species.

Farm 215 is part of the Walkerbay Fynbos Conservancy, creating a natural corridor from farm 215 in the east to the shores of the Stanford Estuary in the West.

Farm 215 is a private and untouched place in the Southern Overberg. A feel of total tranquility, solitude and distance from the daily world takes immediate effect once you start exploring the land on one of our hiking trails. The sounds of nature are all that you hear and you do not come across any man-made structure.

The hiking trails takes you through deep forested “kloofs” to the highest point on Farm 215 and in the Valley, “Perdekop”.

Farm 215 has been set up and is managed as a sustainable operation and is a Protected Area (PA) under the National Environmental Management Protected Areas Act and in partnership with Fauna and Flora International.
