Farm 215 is in between the Stanford wine route and South Africa’s newest and Southernmost Elim & Agulhas wine route. Proudly in between of these two routes, is our direct neighbor and co-member of the Walkerbay Conservancy, award –winning Lomond Vineyards. Behind the hamlet of Baardskeerdersbos, our neighbors to the East, is the boutique winery The Giant Periwinkle.
Further to the East from Baardskeerdersbos, you can taste the wines of the Elim ward : Black Oystercatcher, Zoetendal , the Berrio and the Strandveld vineyards, Africa’s southernmost winery. Together with other farmers and landowners, these Elim wine growers have incorporated their farms into the Nuwejaars Wetland Special Management Area to develop a sustainable ecology serving sustainable agriculture in harmony with nature. Hippos, Buffalos and Guagga-zebras are roaming wild in the natural segments of this area.
To taste the fabulous wines of the Stanford region, visit Stanford Hills, Springfontein, Raka and Boschrivier.
Both the cool and moderate climate and the varied and mineral-rich soils of the area have proven to be perfect for making a fine and diverse range of cultivars.
